Biography

Brief bio

Dr. Murphy is a registered clinical psychologist and assistant professor in the Department of Clinical Health Psychology at the University of Manitoba. She received her PhD in Clinical Psychology (behavioural stream) from UM. She completed her pre-doctoral clinical residency at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto, Ontario, with major rotations in the Schizophrenia Program and Dual Diagnosis Service. 

Through her clinical work, Dr. Murphy provides inpatient consultation services to psychiatry as well as psychological services within the Early Psychosis Prevention and Intervention Service, located in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This latter role includes the provision of psychodiagnostic and cognitive assessments as well as individual and group psychological interventions.
 
Dr. Murphy is active in clinical teaching, including supervising psychology residents and practicum students in the assessment and treatment of persons with psychosis and severe psychiatric conditions. Dr. Murphy serves as the continuing education director in the Department of Clinical Health Psychology.
