Sherri has a keen interest in teaching/mentoring and has participated in multiple training programs and workshops to strengthen her skills. She focuses on competency-based instruction, experiential learning and provision of growth producing feedback. She works towards teaching in a manner that encourages cultural awareness and inclusivity.
Sherri Burnett (she/her) is a genetic counsellor who specializes in the areas of prenatal, preconception and infertility/assisted reproductive techniques (ART). Sherri received her Master of Science in Genetic Counselling from the University of Minnesota in 2008 and is certified through the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC).
Sherri worked with the University of Manitoba to help develop and implement the genetic counselling program and remains involved with the program through teaching, mentoring, and supervising of trainees. Sherri also provides teaching and supervision to trainees in other areas at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
