Dr. Demeter’s main research interests include the public health aspects of ionizing radiation and health technology assessment and health economics policy.

Biography

Dr. Sandor Demeter is an associate professor in community health sciences at the University of Manitoba and has an adjunct appointment with the department of physics at the University of Winnipeg.

Dr. Sandor’s career includes a decade working in public health and more than a decade in clinical nuclear medicine.

He has held a number of senior medical and academic administrative positions, and is currently a staff physician with the Section of Nuclear Medicine at Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg.

He is a commission member with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC), a committee member with the ICRP‒International Commission on Radiological Protection (Protection in Medicine Committee) and a member of CADTH’s Health Technology Expert Review Panel.
