Dr. Samuel Quan is a physician specialized in geriatric medicine, an epidemiologist, and health services researcher. His research aims to better understand dementia care in Manitoba. He uses population-based administrative data to better characterize how older adults with dementia utilize the healthcare system, and how the healthcare system can better meet the needs of older adults with dementia and their caregivers.

Dr. Samuel Quan is a physician specialized in geriatric medicine. Dr. Quan’s clinical practice includes caring for older adults living with frailty and disability.
Dr. Quan conducts research and is an assistant professor at the University of Manitoba. He teaches a variety of sessions related to geriatric medicine to medical students and resident doctors. Dr. Quan’s research interest is epidemiology and health service utilization among older persons living with dementia. His long-term research goal is to better characterize and understand dementia care in Manitoba, and where the health system needs more support.
