Research summary

Currently engaged in the study “Exemplars in maternal and newborn mortality reduction in India” a part of the Exemplars in Global Health led by Gates Ventures, to systematically and comprehensively research and document factors associated with rapid reductions of maternal and neonatal mortality over the past two decades.

Leading the HIV epidemic appraisal as a part of the study “Landscaping of HIV prevention product delivery ecosystems in Kenya”.

Involved in the implementation research under the Uttar Pradesh Technical Support Unit, particularly around effective coverage for maternal and newborn health services, family planning services and routine child immunization services.

Biography

Led the maternal, newborn and child health projects of University of Manitoba in Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh in India during 2011-15. Provided leadership to the monitoring and evaluation of HIV intervention projects of the University in India during 2003-10. Worked as Director, Population Research Centre, Dharwad India during 1997-03. Was a faculty at the International Institute for Population Sciences, Mumbai, India during 1986-1996.
