Dr. Jattan's research interests include exploring how learners act on feedback in the clinical setting. Additionally, he has conducted research on the impact of practice variation and non-clinical roles in protecting physicians against burnout.
Dr. Jattan continues to publish novel curricula developed by the Department of Family Medicine including those related to Patient Safety and Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS).
Previously, Dr. Jattan has conducted research in how to reconcile gaps in rural medical education including the need for more focused resident-as-teacher curricula.
Aaron Jattan is an assistant professor in the department of family medicine at the University of Manitoba where he works as the associate program director and curriculum lead. He is also a family physician and hospitalist working primarily out of St. Boniface Hospital.
Dr. Jattan completed his medical school at the University of Ottawa and his residency at the University of Manitoba in the Brandon stream. He has additionally completed his Master's in Medical Education through the University of Dundee.
In Winnipeg, Dr. Jattan also serves as the chief medical officer (acting) for the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA). He also chairs and sits on national committees with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC). He continues to be actively engaged in research involving clinical feedback and curricular innovation.
