Research interests have primarily involved studying and reconciling gaps in rural medical education, most notably the need for rural-focused resident-as-teacher curricula.
Additionally, research interests include exploring feedback in medical education, social accountability, exercise promotion and curriculum innovations.
Aaron Jattan is an assistant professor in the department of family medicine at the University of Manitoba. He is also a family physician and hospitalist who primarily works out of St. Boniface Hospital.
Dr. Jattan completed his medical school at the University of Ottawa and his residency at the University of Manitoba in the Brandon stream. He recently completed his Master's in Medical Education through the University of Dundee.
He is currently the faculty lead for the family medicine academic curriculum and acts as the education director for the family medicine clinical teaching unit at St. Boniface Hospital.
He sits on national committees with both the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) and Choosing Wisely Canada. He continues to be actively engaged in research involving clinical feedback and curricular innovation.
