Research summary

Dr. Boyd’s research investigates basic science and engineering factors affecting vascular disease conditions such as abdominal aortic aneurysms and peripheral vascular disease.

Biography

Dr. Boyd is a vascular surgeon, surgeon-scientist, and research director at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. She completed her undergraduate degree at Queen's University. She then obtained her master’s degree and PhD in physiology at the University of Toronto. She also completed her MD, as well as general and vascular surgery training at the University of Toronto. Dr. Boyd joined UM in 2006. She was the first woman president of the Canadian Society for Vascular Surgery.
