Research summary

Dr. Shuangbo Liu’s current research focuses on understanding clinical outcomes after acute coronary syndrome and percutaneous coronary intervention through administrative databases and prospective registries. Dr. Liu and her team aims to understand the psychological distress experienced by patients after acute coronary syndrome. Dr. Liu is leading funded interdisciplinary research of myocardial infarction with no obstructive coronary artery disease (MINOCA), a condition that is at the intersection of acute coronary syndrome and women’s heart health.

Biography

Dr. Shuangbo Liu (MD, FRCPC) is an assistant professor in Community Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba. She is an interventional cardiologist and clinician scientist. Her clinical and research interests are focused on acute coronary syndrome and percutaneous coronary intervention outcomes as well as women’s heart health.

Dr. Liu obtained her MD from the University of Manitoba. She completed for internal medicine and adult cardiology training in Winnipeg. In 2017, she moved to Toronto to pursue interventional cardiology fellowship at St. Michael’s Hospital. When she completed her clinical training in 2019, she joined St. Michael’s Hospital as a clinical associate. She will be completing her master of science degree (University of Toronto) in the fall of 2020.
