My Library Account
Learn what you can do with your library account and how to manage it.
About My Library Account
Sign in to your account to:
- Request physical items that are available in the Libraries' collection.
- Access online resources such as databases and eBooks.
- Renew physical books you have borrowed.
- Save item records to the "My Favorites" list when using Library Search, allowing you to access this content at a later time.
- Check account balance and pay fines.
- Create or change your pincode.
Change your password

If you DO NOT have a SignUM account*
To change your password:
- Log in to My Library Account.
- Select Personal Details.
- Select Update Login Credentials on the right-hand side of the screen.
- Type in a new password and click Save.
*Includes those who have a UM Libraries borrowing card and graduates, staff, faculty prior to 2015.
Create or change your pincode
Students must have a four-digit pincode to borrow a laptop or a portable charger. As with banking, it is important that you protect your pincode in case you lose your ID card.
Steps to create or change your pincode
- Log into your Library account.
- Click on PERSONAL DETAILS.
- Click on Update Login Credentials.
- Create or change your four-digit pincode.
Getting an error message?
If you encounter an error message while trying to change your pincode:
- On the Personal details page, click Edit details.
- Select your country from the drop down list (e.g., Canada).
- Save changes.
- You can now save your pincode.
