Biography

Shelley Harms started at UM in August 2019 after spending the previous thirty years in Calgary teaching and working at Mount Royal University. Ever since, she has been enjoying the beautiful province of Manitoba by exploring the many parks with her dog, Merllin. Her current physical activities include walking and hiking with her dog, dog agility with Merllin and golf in the summer. Skating, snowshoeing and hockey are also part of her winter life. 

Shelley’s teaching philosophy, in one statement, is to create a fun, positive, reflective and energetic environment that provides students with ways of knowing and understanding that will help them reach their fullest potential.
