Byron Bahniuk MSc, RMT, CAT(C)
Biography
Byron Bahniuk is a certified athletic therapist and massage therapist who, from 2004-2021 worked Bisons student-athletes and members of the community treating musculoskeletal injuries and conditions before his role changed from therapist to educator. Byron currently is an Instructor I and is the practicum coordinator for experiential learning and teaching within the Athletic Therapy Program in FKRM at UM.
Over the years, Bahniuk has gained his clinical experience through employment with the Pan Am Clinic, Associated Rehab Consultants of Canada, The Balance Point, Therapy & Herbal Alliance, University of Manitoba Athletic Therapy Centre, and the women's national volleyball team.

Experience summary
Bahniuk has acquired skill in the areas of Muscle Energy Techniques (cervical, thoracic, lumbar spine and pelvis), Soft Tissue Release, Neuro-proprioceptive taping and Functional Movement Screening (FMS) and treatment, and joint mobilization.

- Involvement as the lead Athletic Therapist for lacrosse groups in Manitoba (Predator lacrosse; team Manitoba field lacrosse; team Manitoba box lacrosse; Canadian Lacrosse League - Canada).
- Medical liaison for Team Manitoba - Canada Summer Games (2013).
- Medical coordinator for various major sport events (Field lacrosse nationals; western Canada summer games; CanWest T & F championships; CIS & Sport T & Field championships; CIS Volleyball championships; Canadian Nation T & F championships; World Junior Lacrosse championship; Women's National Field Lacrosse championship).
- Athletic Therapist with Team Canada volleyball.
