Working in channels
By default, any team owner or team member can create a private channel. However, guests cannot create private channels. The ability to create private channels can be managed at the team level and at the organization level. Team owners can turn on moderation for a standard channel to control who can start new posts and reply to posts in that channel. For more information, go to the Microsoft support page for Teams and Channels help.
Chat assistance
Teams provides a great out-of-the-box collaboration experience for your organization, and most organizations find that the default settings work for them.
Guest access
Guest access in Teams lets individuals outside your organization access teams and channels. You can use the guest access settings to control which features guest users can or cannot use. Guest access is turned off by default. To learn more, see Guest access in Teams.
Teams settings
Teams settings let you personalize your collaboration experience. If you’re a team owner, you're also in control of many other settings and permissions of your team. To learn more, see Teams settings.
Scheduling meetings using Outlook
Microsoft Teams includes the Outlook add-in, which lets you create new Teams meetings directly from Outlook. The Outlook add-in also lets people view, accept or join meetings in either app.
Currently, you can schedule Teams meetings from Outlook, but cannot choose a channel to have the meeting in. More information can be found on the Teams support page.

Troubleshooting common issues
Teams common solutions
Removing a user from a Teams channel
Team owners get to decide which team members can delete and restore channels. To delete a channel, go to the channel name and choose More options > Delete this channel. Keep in mind that once you delete a channel, you also lose its entire conversation history. However, the OneNote sections associated with that channel will still show up on your team's SharePoint site.
If you are considering deleting a channel because you are overwhelmed by notifications about new messages, you can instead turn off notifications.
Cannot make a call or chat
You can make one-on-one or group calls with anyone in your organization directly from a chat without having to host a team meeting. These calls are private and won't appear in any team conversation. However, entries for the calls will appear in your chat. Visit the Microsoft support site to learn how to start a call from a chat in Teams.
Using Microsoft Teams tabs
Give team members quick access to tools, services, and files with Microsoft Teams tabs. Tabs are always visible at the top of the screen, so everyone can get to them easily.
- Tabs allow you to integrate the tools and services you love right into your chat or channel.
- Tabs are always visible at the top and stay with the conversation, so everyone can get to them easily.

Share your screen in Teams
