Request for filming at the University of Manitoba

Thank you for your interest in filming at the University of Manitoba. Please complete this filming request form.

Our team will review your request to ensure it aligns with our campuses space guidelines and university values. Filming requests will only be considered for approval if they do not interfere with or disrupt the regular operations of the institution, including academic activities, research, or events.

A minimum of 15 business days processing time is required for all requests. The University of Manitoba reserves the right to refuse any script which may in any way be contradictory to the University of Manitoba image, goals and objectives. An agreement will be negotiated between the University and the production company prior to filming.

Location fee

A Location Fee of $2,500 per day will be charged in addition to full recovery of all costs incurred by the University in relation to film production activity. Students and faculty may be exempted from this fee. The Location Fee will be payable 48 hours prior to commencement of filming; other fees payable when billed. Certain spaces on Campus charge additional location fees.

Liability insurance

Certificate of Insurance coverage needs to be provided prior to filming on campus in the amount of at least $5,000,000 and showing the University of Manitoba as co-insured is required.

Other costs

If a university staff member is required during filming on university property, cost for the staff member (and overtime) must be paid by the film company.
