Dr. Nan Wu obtained his B.Eng and M.Sc from Northeastern University China in 2005 and 2008, respectively, and received his Ph.D. degree in 2012 from the University of Manitoba. Currently, Dr. Wu is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering – at the University of Manitoba with teaching and research interests in the fields of Mechanical Vibration, Smart Materials and Structures, Metamaterials, Nano-technology, and their applications to Structural Health Monitoring, Structural Enhancement and Energy Harvesting.
Dr. Wu has published more than 90 journal papers in high-quality international journals, such as Journal Sound and Vibration, International Journal of Engineering Science, Smart Materials and Structures, Structural Health Monitoring, Composites Part B, and Carbon. He has 3 patents in the field of energy harvesting, structural health monitoring, and enhancement by using smart materials.
Dr. Wu has served on the editorial boards of 4 international journals and as a reviewer for more than 50 high-quality international journals, such as Applied Mathematical Modeling, ASME, Journal of Nanotechnology in Engineering and Medicine, Composites Part B, Journal of Sound and Vibration and Smart Materials and Structures.
