My research lies at the interface of machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, medical imaging and robotics. In the past, I have designed machine learning techniques for a variety of applications, including rehabilitation robotics, microwave and ultrasound imaging, stored grain monitoring, and precision agriculture.

Vahab Khoshdel was born in Mashhad (Iran) in 1989. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees in computer engineering from Shahrud University in Iran; he obtained his first Ph.D. in robotics from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran. He has received his second Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Manitoba. Vahab has worked in the computer industry for several years, where he directed research teams involved in computer vision, machine learning, and AI. Vahab is currently an Assistant Professor in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Manitoba.
