Dr. Paul Labossiere, P.Eng. joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Manitoba in 2009 after nine years at the University of Washington in Seattle. His undergraduate degrees in Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering were received at the University of Manitoba and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. were awarded from the University of Colorado at Boulder on his work in the area of fracture mechanics. He also spent over six years consulting in the biomechanical field, specifically in the FDA regulatory compliance process for implantable medical devices such as stents and heart valves. He currently holds the position of Associate Dean (Design Education) and is the Director of the Centre for Engineering Professional Practice and Engineering Education in the Price Faculty of Engineering.
