Area

Program Evaluation, assessment, quantitative methods, teaching effectiveness.

Research description

Dr. Renaud's research focuses mainly on program evaluation. Within the engineering program, this touches on two main evaluation questions: (1) How well is the educational program working, in terms of the participants (usually students), having learned and developed in the expected ways (outcomes)? and (2) To what degree is the program delivered as intended (process)?

Graduate Student Opportunities

Dr. Renaud is currently seeking graduate students with an interest in engineering education research. Prospective students are encouraged to review the information about the Graduate Specialization in Engineering Education on the Department of Engineering Education’s webpage and contact him with a brief description of their research interests.
