Profile

Kathryn Atamanchuk is a professional engineer with experience in Manitoba’s aerospace sector, having held the roles of Service Engineer, Project Engineer, Engineering Manager, and finally as Director of Engineering Services at StandardAero. Kathryn is passionate about diversity in engineering and currently serves as the chair of the Committee for Increasing the Participation of Women in Engineering, an operating committee of Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba. Kathryn’s professional involvement also includes serving as an ex-officio board member of Friends of Engineering (Manitoba) Inc. and as a member of the Investigation Committee within Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba.

As an engineer-in-residence, Kathryn Atamanchuk supports Manitoba’s Aero-Engine Test sector in various ways:

  • Teaching industry-related undergraduate engineering courses in the areas of Project/Operations Management and Applied Aerospace Instrumentation.
  • Acting as a liaison between industry and the Faculty to promote aero-engine test related activities including research projects and student internships.
  • Mentoring students and serving as a technical advisor for the Mechanical Engineering capstone design course, MECH 4860 Engineering Design.
