    Teach English in France

Are you interested in an opportunity to work in France as an English language teaching assistant this year? Do you have a functional working knowledge of French? Do you have two years of completed university studies in any area?

The Faculty of Education will host an information session for the Teaching Assistant Program in France:

    Date: Wednesday, Feb. 11
    Time: 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
    Location: 360 Education Building
*Open to all faculties and students

The Language Assistant Program in France is a joint initiative of the French Ministry of Education, France International Education, and the Cultural Service of the French Embassy in Canada. The Faculty of Education is facilitating this info session and helping to promote the program at the University of Manitoba.

The objective of this program is to strengthen English language teaching within the French education system through the presence of native English-speaking assistants in elementary, middle, and high school classrooms. This program also allows Francophile Canadians and future French teachers in Canada to gain excellent teaching experience abroad and an in-depth knowledge of French language and culture.

Mamàhtawisiwin: The Wonder of Becoming a Teacher

    Presented by: Dr. Jennifer Watt

“When we are born into the world, we come with the gift to help people live a good life.” (Manitoba Education and Early Childhood, 2022, p. 7).

Teaching is an ongoing process of becoming. We are always in search of the wonder that is born within us and the wonder that is born within the students, families, colleagues, and communities we learn alongside. Whether you may already be fairly convinced you want to be a teacher, or whether you may just be curious about what the teaching profession might be like, come join us in the Faculty of Education for this glimpse into the wonder of becoming a teacher.
