Dr. Perry's research focuses on identifying and understanding the underlying causes of periodontal disease, as well as developing more effective admission tools for selecting applicants to Canadian undergraduate dentistry programs. He also conducts a part-time oral pathology specialty practice, where he specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of soft tissue lesions.
Dr. John Perry is a leading expert in the field of oral pathology, serving as associate professor and division head at the Dr. Gerald Niznick College of Dentistry at the University of Manitoba. He holds a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree and a Master of Science in Immunology from the University of Manitoba, and is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
In addition to his research and teaching responsibilities, Dr. Perry is also an active member of several professional organizations, including the International College of Dentists, Pierre Fauchard Honorary Dental Society, American Dental Education Association, Canadian Academy of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Medicine, and the Manitoba Dental Association. With his extensive knowledge, experience, and dedication to advancing the field of oral pathology, Dr. Perry is a valuable asset to the University of Manitoba and the dental community as a whole.
