Please note: this event is intended for FALL 2024 UNDERGRADUATE APPLICANTS, as well as parents and supporters. Students must have submitted an application for Fall 2024 admission to attend.
Schedule and programming
Preparing for University is a come-and-go style event, you are not required to attend all sessions and tours offered. Attend what you wish, when you wish from the options below.
Presentations
PREPARING FOR UNIVERSITY (30 minutes)
Join experts from the First Year Centre to learn about the next steps you need to take before starting your first day of classes.
Presentation times: 1:15 pm, 1:30 pm, 2:00 pm, 2:30 pm, 3:00 pm, 3:30 pm, 4:00 pm, 4:30 pm
FINANCIAL PLANNING FOR UNIVERSITY (20 minutes)
Are you still wondering how to finance your university studies? If so, join us in Marshall McLuhan Hall for a short overview of funding options such as scholarships and loans.
Presentation times: 1:00 pm, 1:30 pm, 2:00 pm, 2:30 pm, 3:00 pm, 3:30 pm, 4:00 pm, 4:30 pm
Information Fair
Connect 1:1 with representatives from your intended program and across the UM community.
Location: Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) -- 2nd floor, UMSU University Centre (Zone 1)
On-going throughout the event: 1:00 - 5:00 pm
Campus tours
Go on a 30-min. guided walking tour of our beautiful Fort Garry campus. Residence tours are also available for students interested in on-campus housing.
Location: UMSU University Centre patio (Zone 4)
*Rain location: 1st floor, UMSU University Centre
Tours offered every 30 minutes: 1:00 pm, 1:30 pm, 2:00 pm, 2:30 pm, 3:00 pm, 3:30 pm, 4:00 pm, 4:30 pm
Explore campus on your own time: take a self-guided walking tour of the Fort Garry campus or get an inside look at faculty buildings, classrooms, labs and more with our immersive 360° Virtual Tour.
Residence Tours
Go on a 30-min. guided tour of our Pembina Hall and Mary Speechley Hall student residences.
