UM COVID-19 Campus Protocols

Stay home if you are sick, and follow UM’s health and safety protocols.
Remember, when you visit the UM campuses the following applies:
- Updated UM COVID protocols apply on all campuses until the end of Summer Term.
- Masks are required in all indoor spaces: KN95 strongly recommended, minimum standard is 3-ply medical ASTM Grade 2.

 

Registration has closed and this event has passed. Check back for new orientation events in 2023.

The sessions will start at 9:30 a.m. CST. There will be directional signs and volunteers available to answer your questions and help you find your way to your first session. The sessions, Campus Tours and Info Fair will take place at the heart of campus in or around UMSU University Centre (UMSU UC), the EITC (Engineering Information Technology Complex) and Helen Glass Centre for Nursing. See below for the session schedule and locations.

Sessions will include presentations about:

  • Choosing first year courses 
  • Key UM student supports
  • Career Services
  • The transition from high school to university 

You can also take a Campus Tour with student tour guides, who will show you all the most important spots on campus. Tours will leave from UMSU University Centre throughout the morning. 

Visit booths at the Info Fair outside UMSU University Centre and talk to staff and students, who will help answer your questions about all the supports and programs available to UM students!

Food will be available to purchase in UMSU University Centre at Campo, Starbucks and GPA's on the lower level and Degrees Diner on the third floor.

Stop by the UM Bookstore to stock up on UM gear while you're on campus.

Parking:We recommend parking in Q Lot on event day.  Most UM surface lots are free of charge on weekends (with some exceptions - pay attention to signs). Paid parking ($12/day) is also available in the Parkade, which is connected to UMSU University Centre.  

Session Schedule

Career Planning Kickstart, Highschool vs. University (Student Edition and Parents/Supporter's Edition) and Student Supports sessions will run three times, concurrently, starting at 9:30a.m., 11:30a.m. and  12:30p.m. in their respective lecture hall.

All Faculty sessions and Get Ready to Register will only run once, starting at 10:30a.m. in their respective lecture hall.

Walking Campus Tours

These 45-minute walking tours:

  • Run every 30 minutes from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. CST
  • Highlight important buildings for first year students
