  • Department of Study: Supply Chain Management

Year Entered Into Program: Fall 2026

    Faculty Supervisor: Dr. Yuvraj Gajpal

    Bio:

Supul Muhandiram is a PhD student in Management specializing in Transportation and Logistics in the Department of Supply Chain Management at the I.H. Asper School of Business, University of Manitoba, Canada. His research focuses on Arctic logistics and northern supply chains. He examines how transportation infrastructure, environmental and climatic conditions, Indigenous and community priorities, sustainability, supply chain resilience, and supply chain equity shape corridor development and the future of northern and Arctic trade. His research draws on geographic information systems (GIS), transportation network analysis, spatial statistics and stakeholder perspectives.

Supul holds an M.Sc. in Management from the University of Manitoba and a master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Wolverhampton in the United Kingdom. His M.Sc. thesis used GIS and network analysis to examine the effects of grain elevator consolidation on Manitoba’s grain transportation network and evaluate targeted infrastructure investments for improving access in underserved agricultural regions. He is also a Chartered Management Accountant through CIMA, UK, and has completed intensive GIS training at Harvard University’s Center for Geographic Analysis.

Outside academia, Supul is a Co-Founder of AYUVA Wellness (Pvt) Ltd., a premium Ayurvedic wellness company in Sri Lanka, where he provides strategic, financial, and operational leadership. His multidisciplinary background in engineering, management, entrepreneurship, and spatial analysis informs his approach to transportation, organizational, and supply chain research.
