Biography

As an Undergraduate Program Advisor Martha is responsible for guiding students to achieve their academic goals within the undergraduate Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) Program. Be it, registration, course selection, program route options, or graduation consultation. Martha is also involved in academic misconduct cases for the Asper School of Business.

Martha uses the perspective advising model in her role at Asper School of Business where her goal is to address immediate questions to facilitate the student’s progress through their academic program by researching student records and identifying issues and potential roadblocks. Martha believes that being a good advisor means being knowledgeable about the characteristics and needs of her students and staying informed about their respective program as well as institutional mission, goals, requirements, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.

Martha has more than 10 years of experience at the University of Manitoba in various roles. Most recently she spent 8 years at the Bannatyne Campus with the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences before starting at Asper Business School in the summer of 2022. She is a University of Manitoba alumnus with a Bachelor of Arts and a certificate in Academic Advising.
