Biography

As an Undergraduate Program Advisor, Martha is committed to helping students in the Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) program at the Asper School of Business achieve their academic goals. Her role includes guiding students through registration, course selection, program options, and graduation consultations. Martha is also actively involved in handling academic misconduct cases, ensuring the integrity of the academic experience.

Martha takes a student-centered approach to advising, drawing from Appreciative Advising and Strengths-Based Advising models. She believes in building strong, collaborative relationships with students, encouraging them to explore their strengths and passions while helping them set achievable academic and career goals. By fostering an inclusive, supportive environment, Martha helps students navigate their academic journey with confidence. Her personal mission is to create a space where students feel empowered to take ownership of their education while knowing they have a reliable and knowledgeable guide.

With over 13 years of experience at the University of Manitoba, Martha has held various roles, including eight years at the Bannatyne Campus with the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences. Since joining Asper in the summer of 2022, she has continued to stay informed about institutional goals, program policies, and student needs to better serve the undergraduate community. Martha holds a Bachelor of Arts and a certificate in Academic Advising from the University of Manitoba.

Outside of work, Martha enjoys traveling the world with her partner and spending time with the neighborhood dogs on long walks.
