Biography

Mahdi joined the University of Manitoba as an Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems at the Asper School of Business. Before that, he served as an Assistant Professor of Information Technology Management at the Ted Rogers School of Management, Toronto Metropolitan University, and as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University. Mahdi received his PhD in Business Administration (Information Systems) from the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University. He also holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Mahdi’s primary research focuses on using and implementing big data analytics technologies, such as artificial intelligence, in organizations and broader society. He further researched ethical technology design and user behavior in online communities. Along with his research, Mahdi has shown excellence in academic teaching, being awarded the Best Instructor for his teaching effectiveness and innovative teaching approach. Mahdi also has work experience as a business strategist and IT project manager.
