Biography

Changqiu Yu is an Assistant Professor in the Accounting and Finance Department at the Asper School of Business, University of Manitoba. Dr. Yu received her PhD in Accounting from the Schulich School of Business at York University. Her research focuses on the textual analysis of analyst reports, which involves the examination of the informational content of the reports and how they interact with a firm’s information environment, corporate governance, and institutional factors.

Dr. Yu currently holds two SSHRC Insight grants. One as Principal Investigator “Carbon Emissions, Environmental Transition Risks, and Firm Valuation: Evidence from Financial Analysts,” and one as Co-investigator, alongside PI Hongping Tan “Private Interaction with Management: Evidence from Textual Analysis of Analyst Reports”.
