Biography

Dr. Xiumei Li is an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at the I.H. Asper School of Business, University of Manitoba. She received her Ph.D. in Strategic Management from Drexel University. Her research primarily examines how entrepreneurs mobilize resources and gain stakeholder support in uncertain and nascent markets, with a particular focus on entrepreneurial framing, cultural resources, and market meaning systems. Her broader research interests include the social and institutional dynamics shaping entrepreneurship and emerging market phenomena. Her research has been published in leading entrepreneurship and management journals, including the Journal of Business Venturing and Journal of Management Studies, and has been recognized through inclusion in the Academy of Management Best Paper Proceedings. She is also a recipient of Social Sciences and Humanitites Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) Insight Development Grants. Dr. Li currently serves on the Editorial Review Board of the Asia Pacific Journal of Management.
