Dr. Bartell received his B.A. (Hons.) in Economics and Political Science from McGill University, his M.B.A in Finance and Economics from the Graduate School of Business, University of Chicago and his Ph.D. from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University. He was the founding director of the international exchange program and designed, developed, and implemented a successful strategy for its implementation. He visited, negotiated, and managed programs with universities in the Americas, Europe and Asia. While on research leave, he was a visiting scholar at the International Centre, University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri. He has given numerous presentations at international forums.
Dr. Bartell's approach to the study of innovation integrates management, organizational behaviour, and economics in an international and cross-cultural perspective. He has designed and delivered a nationally-broadcast series on the quality of work life for the CTV Television Network, consulted for the Government of Canada and developed seminars for the Swedish Institute of Management and the Handelshogskolan in Stockholm, Sweden.
In his current research, Professor Bartell is focusing on international institutionalization in post-secondary education and effective strategies for its implementation.
