Research
Research interests
Dr. Lengyel’s research focuses on nutrition and health-related issues of baby boomers and older adults residing in residential care [e.g., long-term care (LTC) homes] and in community residences, in both rural and urban areas, to improve their nutritional well-being and quality of life, specifically:
- Determinants of food and fluid intake
- Dietary assessment
- Body image and baby boomer women
- Nutrition end of life practices in LTC

- Navigating the Nutrition Information Landscape for Long Term Care Residents and their Decision Makers at the End of Life - (PI)
- Dining in Long-Term Care and Assisted Living: Stakeholder Perspectives - (Co-I)
- Development of Hydration Intervention Protocols for Long Term Care Homes (PI- URGP Grant, University of Manitoba)
