Dr. Cordeiro's research focuses on enhancing the productivity and environmental sustainability of agro-ecosystems using cutting-edge data analysis and modeling tools. His modeling efforts of crop and animal systems encompass the entire data life-cycle, from data collection using drone-mounted hyper-spectral sensors and indoor positioning systems to data processing using advanced research computing (ARC). Dr. Cordeiro's research program also aims at developing digital datasets to support large-scale modeling exercises and spatial analyses, as well as improving the computational performance of modeling tools. His multidisciplinary research program is being developed in collaboration with colleagues from computer, plant, animal, soil, and environmental sciences, as well as engineering.
