Dr. Tanya Kozera's research interests include active lifestyle and the biopsychosocial aspects of work capacity, the mediators of disability and rehabilitation, long covid fatigue, physical literacy in adults and return to work.
Dr. Kozera has also guided quality assurance research projects in the health system to advance the physiotherapy care of patients across the scope of physical therapy practice from examining mobility on medicine wards, post-surgical rehabilitation, health care provider research capacity, lung volume recruitment with spinal cord injuries, long covid rehabilitation, persistent pain and return to work.
Dr Tanya Kozera is a faculty member with the College of Rehabilitation Sciences in Physical Therapy, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba. She has over 25 years of experience in physiotherapy practice in both private and public practice settings.
In previous physiotherapy leadership roles, she was director of clinical services and director of health services in the Winnipeg Health Region. With the front-line health care providers, Dr. Kozera has conducted research to advance the rehabilitation process in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
