The Desautels Concert Hall is available for rental. Please look at the rental rates and ticket information for 2024-2025 before filling out the rental questionnaire found below.

Rental Rates

Non-profit organizations are eligible for a discount. Please contact the Concert Hall Coordinator for more information. Rental rates do not include any technical assistance. Rental time is inclusive of performance and rehearsal per day.

Technical Assistance

All labour charges over 8 hours per day are subject to the overtime rate of 1.5x the base hourly charge. Any labour on statutory holidays is subject to the overtime rate of 1.5x the base hourly charge. 

  • A technician rate of $50 per hour per technician will be charged. 
  • Technician requirements to be determined based on need. 
  • A minimum of one technician per event is required. 
  • Setup of chairs & stage minimum $100 (2 people x 2 hour min) 
  • Front of House staff – $25 per hour per staff member

The default placement of the moveable orchestra pit shell is fully extended for a maximum use of the stage. 

  • Use of orchestra pit - $650
  • Movement of Proscenium $400 
  • Wireless lapel or handheld microphone - $50/mic 
  • Projector/ screen- $50 for U of M events
  • $200 for non-U of M events 
  • Podium $25 
  • Risers $400 
  • Piano tuning- $135 
  • Additional piano(s) within the DFOM - $1,500 per piano + $135 for tuning 
  • Additional piano(s) outside of the DFOM - $2,000 per piano + 135 for tuning

*Food or drink other than water is not permitted in the auditorium

Ticket Information

The capacity of the Marcel A. Desautels Concert Hall is 399 with 4 additional seats allocated for wheelchair access. If you need additional seats for wheelchairs, please indicate it on our form. 

If you wish to use our ticketing software, Showpass, note that Showpass charges a 2.5% + $1.69 fee per ticket plus a 2.9% credit card processing fee. These charges can either be absorbed by the renter, or passed along to the customer. Use of our ticketing software will also require the use of our Front-of-House staff.

Showpass
