An applied and academic career focusing on community-based practice, research, academic teaching, and knowledge translation in the area of public health epidemiology, with a concentration on the use of spatial epidemiology, disease forecasting, and statistical modeling as tools to support the planning and evaluation of public health programs. A current area of focus is the construction of an outward facing surveillance infrastructure to equip public health programs, and their community partners, with the data they need to more strategically address upstream determinants of health and health inequalities.
Dr. Chris Green has been an associate professor in community health sciences since 2015. In this capacity he has collaborated on research projects focusing on the epidemiology of chronic and communicable diseases and their social determinants as well as teaching in a number of courses focusing on applied public health practice. He has worked extensively as epidemiologist in a variety of applied public health settings.
