Contains Admiralty orders (1852) for Belcher to proceed with the Assistance, Resolute, Pioneer, Intrepid, and North Star to Lancaster Sound, establishing the North Star as depot ship at Beechey Island, and there dividing the expedition into eastern and western divisions to proceed, respectively, up Wellington Channel and west to Melville Island.
