Faculty, staff and retiree giving
Together, our faculty, staff and retirees can make a positive impact on the lives of UM students by supporting the Faculty, Staff and Retirees Campaign. Through philanthropic contributions, you can send a powerful message to our students and community that you value their education and future. Support from the University of Manitoba’s internal community shows pride in our university and can inspire others to follow your lead.

Why I give
Leaving a Legacy
Planning a gift to the University of Manitoba is a meaningful way to give back to the next generation of UM students and researchers.
Alexander Kennedy Isbister left the University of Manitoba its first bequest of $83,000 along with 4,958 books in 1883. His gift demonstrated his faith in the future of the University and the province of Manitoba. From his gift, scholarships are awarded to promising students regardless of sex, race, or creed; these scholarships play an important role in student aid at the University. This planned gift has awarded scholarships to over 1400 students at UM since its inception. You too can leave a legacy.
A planned gift has no immediate cost, allowing you to retain control of your assets during your lifetime. You will receive a donation receipt for use in the year of your passing and the previous year, and your estate can claim tax credits in subsequent years. Click here to learn more.
