The following is a list of organizations which offer scholarships and awards that may be of interest to current and entering University of Manitoba undergraduate and graduate students. Awards with upcoming deadlines will be noted: students are encouraged however, to search for award opportunities year-round.
Because these scholarships and awards are administered by industry, government and private organizations outside the University of Manitoba, students should read all the information provided carefully and direct questions to the appropriate contact listed on the application.

BluEarth Renewables Scholarships - currently offers two scholarship programs for university students: one for Indigenous students and one for community leaders. Deadline date: September 15th.
Business Council of Manitoba Indigenous Education Awards - The Business Council of Manitoba is committed to helping Indigenous students attend university or community college. Annual application deadline date: March 31st.

Canadian Hard of Hearing Association Scholarships - Please click on link above for eligibility and application details. Application Deadline: April 30, 2021.
Complete Test Preparation Inc. Scholarship - $1,000 scholarship for a student who submits an essay or short video on their best test preparation method or their best study skill. Application Deadline: September 30, 2021.
creditcardGenius (a WeyMedia Inc. business) 2001 Scholarship Canada - a $2,000 scholarship available to Canadian students enrolled in full-time undergraduate or graduate studies. Application deadline: September 3, 2021.
DCCI Scholarship for Canadian Students with Disabilities - $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a Canadian high school student with a documented disability who is pursuing post-secondary education in the field of study in health care, criminal justice or community & social services at an accredited Canadian institution for the upcoming academic year 2021/2022. Application Deadline: July 31, 2021.
EFC (Electro Federation Canada) Scholarship program provides post-secondary students who are interested in pursuing a career in the Electrical industry, with funding to support their academics. Currently 52 scholarship opportunities are available through this program. Application Deadline: May 31, 2021.
EnergyRates.Ca College Scholarship - a $500 scholarship to any student enrolled in an American or Canadian post-secondary educational institution. Applicants must write an essay, no more than 500 words in length, telling us where you see the future of the energy industry. Application deadline: January 31.
Jeanne Henuset-Fraser Memorial Bursary for Rural Manitoba Students - to enable students from a rural background to fulfill their educational dreams at a Canadian post-secondary institution of their choice. One or more bursaries, ranging from $500 to $2,000 in value. Application deadline: July 31st.
HowToSaveMoney 2021 Scholarship - a $2,000 scholarship for Canadian students enrolled in full-time undergraduate or graduate studies. Application deadline: September 3, 2021.
Loans Canada Scholarship Fund - an award program to reward students that are practicing sound financial education and literacy. $750 awarded three times a year (for every semester). Application deadline dates: April 30, July 30 and November 30.
Loran Award - Up to 36 awards granted annually to young Canadians who show strength of character, commitment to service, and leadership potential. Eligible for Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents in their last year of uninterrupted studies in high school or Cegep who present a minimum cumulative grade of 85% of an R score equal to or higher than 29. Manitoba and Northwest Ontario Legion and Ladies Auxilliary offer both bursary and scholarship awards to Manitoba students. The deadline for application is 31 July 2020 for the Legion Bursary and Scholarship and 30 September 2020 for the Legion Auxiliary Scholarship.
Manitoba Government and General Employees' Union (MGEU) - Each year the MGEU awards numerous bursaries and scholarships to Manitobans pursuing post-secondary education and training programs. Any registered, dues-paying member, or spouse of a member, or child or ward of a member, is eligible. Please click on link above for application details.
Lyle Makosky Values and Ethics in Sport Fund - The fund provides annual financial awards to support personal experience-based, exploratory, foundational, applied and evaluative research to increase the understanding of challenges related to values in, and of, sport in Canada, with the goal of advancing solutions that strengthen the conduct of sport. Application Deadline: April 30, 2021.
North American Van Lines Canada Scholarship - The $1,000 scholarship will be given to a few chosen students who are pursuing a degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a similar field and are planning on starting a career related to logistics. Application deadline: December 15, 2021.
Sheldon Oberman Award - for a pre-service Education student with a teaching area in English or Theatre who is also a talented creative writer. The student must be enrolled in a program in the Faculty of Education at a post-secondary institution in Manitoba and can be in any year of their program at the time of application. The recipient is presented with a certificate and a prize of $250.00 at the MATE conference on the MTS Professional Development Day in October. Application deadline: June 30, 2021.
Portage Legion Branch 65 Bursary Application - These bursaries (up to 4 are handed out) are open to any student, in any year of post secondary education, from the Portage Branch #65 catchment area who are continuing on with their higher education and show the need for financial assistance. The catchment area runs along #1 Highway between MacGregor and Elie and the north/south boundary runs just north of #1 Highway south to #2 Highway. The student's permanent residence must be in Manitoba and they must have a connection to a Veteran as defined by the Legion By-Laws. Deadline date: May 15, 2021.
Scholarship Program for Accounting Students - The Accounting Scholarship program is designed to encourage students to hold a professional accounting career and become leaders in the future. The $5,000 scholarship is presented to enrolled post-graduates and undergraduates in an accounting-related field at an accredited university. Application Deadline: May 15th.

Paul Stothart Memorial Scholarship in Mineral Economics - $3,500 scholarship for a student enrolled full-time in their second, third or fourth year of a Bachelors of Economics degree or in their first or second year of a Master of Economics or MBA program. Applicants must also demonstrate an interest, supported by current or intended course work, in mineral economics or mining commerce. Application deadline: May 15th.
The Assignment Saving Lives Bursary program is making a significant impact in the community by recruiting blood donors. This unique program offers students the opportunity to win prizes from $250.00, $500.00 and $1250.00 to be applied towards post-secondary tuition fees for those who are enrolled no later than January 31st, 2022. Participants will gain hands-on experience, developing leadership, project management and communication skills. Registration is underway and is open until May 31, 2021.
The Reading and Learning Clinic of Manitoba focuses upon teachers and professionals of the future with our University student scholarship-internship for the Classroom Educator AOGPE training and practice. Application Deadline: June 15th.
