Research interests

Dr. Zvomuya's research focuses on the following:

  • remediation of contaminated media
  • beneficial utilization of agricultural and industrial byproducts
  • reclamation of sites disturbed by human activity
  • antibiotic fate and transport in terrestrial and aquatic environments

Current research projects

  • Soil productivity and soil health status following restoration of pipeline corridors 
  • Wetland-based and terrestrial phytoremediation of end-of-life municipal lagoons
  • Agronomic effectiveness of phosphorus recovered from waste streams
  • Soil health under perennial forage grain systems
  • Use of organic amendments in reclamation of wellsites
