Office of the Registrar and Enrolment Services

The Office of the Registrar and Enrolment Services (ORES), encompasses four constituent units: the Office of Student Recruitment, the Admissions Office, The Financial Aid & Awards Office, and the Registrar’s Office. These offices serve the University community and the public by providing a range of functions that contribute to recruiting and supporting students through to graduation, and beyond.

University Registrar and Executive Director of Enrolment Services

Jeff Adams, BA, MBA

Jeff joined the University of Manitoba in 2009 as the Director of Student Recruitment, he was appointed to the role of Executive Director of Enrolment Services in 2012, and assumed his current responsibilities as University Registrar and Executive Director of Enrolment Services in 2020. Prior to his arrival at UM, he worked in the private sector in various marketing and strategic planning roles.

Jeff provides overall leadership to the four units that comprise the Office of the Registrar and Enrolment Services: Student Recruitment, Admissions, Financial Aid and Awards, and the Registrar’s Office. During his time at UM, Jeff has made significant contributions to the institutional Strategic Enrolment Management plan. In addition to his responsibilities at UM Jeff has served a term as President of the Western Association of Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada and currently serves as the Western Canadian Representative on the Board of Directors for the Association of Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada.

Jeff is focused on ensuring that all students, prospective and current, have an outstanding experience at UM.

Strategic Priorities

Enhance services to students and our stakeholders by:

Exploring various service delivery models including a One-Stop Student Service Model
Enhancing convocation to ensure those in attendance, and those crossing the stage have an outstanding experience.
Exploring ways in which we can provide financial supports to students in need.

Support faculties and the institution by maintaining and upgrading the various institution-wide systems that our offices manage.

Work with faculties and central units in support of enrolment management planning to ensure that we can achieve our institutional enrolment goals.
