Research summary

Dr. Reynold Washington's research focuses on addressing health disparities among vulnerable and hard-to-reach populations. He designs and implements tailored health interventions to bridge gaps and promote equitable health outcomes. His work includes health services training, health surveillance methodologies, and the epidemiology and control of infectious diseases, particularly human immunodeficiency virus and tuberculosis. Dr. Washington also explores maternal, neonatal, and child health to improve healthcare delivery systems. His research contributes to advancing knowledge and informing evidence-based policies and interventions that enhance public health outcomes.

Biography

Dr. Reynold Washington is an associate professor in the College of Community and Global Health. He completed his medical degree in Community Health from St. John’s Medical College and Hospital, Bangalore University, in 1994, and holds a Diplomate of the National Board of Exams in Social and Preventive Medicine from New Delhi. With over three decades of public health experience, he has served in various capacities as a technical advisor with organizations like the World Health Organization (WHO) Southeast Asia Regional Office (SEARO), and contributed significantly to community health in Karnataka and India.
