Dr. Malcolm Doupe’s research focuses on health service research, care transitions, and the health of older adults. He specializes in registry data systems and implementation research. Dr. Doupe is currently leading or co-leading several projects, including:
He has received several national and international grants to enhance care transitions for older adults and also directs the Manitoba Training Program in Health Services Research.
Dr. Doupe is particularly interested in the risk factors and patterns of Continuing Care services use, healthcare transitions, and issues related to care continuity for older adults.
Dr. Malcolm Doupe is a professor at the College of Community and Global Health, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba. He is a health services researcher specializing in the aging population and health services utilization. Dr. Doupe holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Community Health Sciences and a Master of Science in Kinesiology, both from the University of Manitoba.
In addition to his academic work, Dr. Doupe is a senior research scientist at the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy and holds cross-appointments in the Department of Emergency Medicine. He is also affiliated with Western Norway University of Applied Sciences and is a member of the Translating Research in Elder Care and iNET research groups.
Dr. Doupe has received several awards for his contributions to scholarship and research in health sciences, including the CIHR Institute of Health Services and Policy Research National Article of the Year and the Rh Institute Award for Outstanding Contributions to Scholarship and Research. He is the director of the Manitoba Training Program in Health Services Research and is currently accepting PhD students.
