The Discover Your Future in Arts series features presentations and workshops to help you learn about the many opportunities available to Bachelor of Arts graduates.
This series is ideal for first and second year Arts students and students in University 1 or other faculties thinking of applying to the Faculty of Arts.

Curious about how you can gain experiential learning opportunities to build your resume?
Wondering what to do after graduation?
If this sounds like you, join us and discover how Arts programs can lead you to an exciting career.
Can’t attend all the sessions? No problem. Pick and choose which ones will best answer your questions and fit your schedule.
Highlights of the series include:
- a session with Arts alumni sharing their experience and career path,
- a panel of employers who will talk about why they hire Arts graduates,
- a list of the many ways an Arts student can gain valuable experience during your degree,
- hands-on workshops where a Career Consultant will guide you through the career planning process, take you through hands-on exercises to explore your options and help you plan what comes next, and
- step-by-step instructions on how to declare a major and stay on track with your chosen program throughout your degree.

Discover Your Future in Arts

Considering an Arts degree but don't know where to start? Are you a current Arts student wondering what major to declare or what jobs your major might lead to? Attend this "kick-off" presentation to learn about the many areas of study offered in Arts and the resources available to help you plan your studies so they will align with your future job interests. Plus, get ideas from Arts alumni who will share their academic and career path.
Get the Experience that will move you forward

Join 5 industry professionals including Human Resource Professionals and an entrepreneurship expert to learn:
- The scope of opportunities for individuals with a B.A.
- About different student employment programs
- The knowledge, skills, attributes and experiential learning opportunities that employers look for
- Advice on resume preparation
- About entrepreneur opportunities and what competencies are helpful when considering self-employment
Week 4 | April 4 - 8
Now Plan Your Degree
Wednesday, April 7 | 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Are you ready to take the next step with your degree? Attend this session and hear from an Arts Academic Advisor who will walk you through the degree program options, how to use UM Achieve and the steps to declare (or change) your major.
