On November 6, 2019 thousands of Grade 9 students from across Manitoba will spend a day job shadowing a parent, relative, friend or volunteer host for Take Our Kids to Work Day.
This experience assists students in understanding the importance of staying in school, helps them gain an appreciation of the working world and demonstrates the connection between education and their future.
The University of Manitoba hosts Take Our Kids to Work Day activities and believes it is a great opportunity to highlight the diversity of roles and programs at our university while developing connections with future U of M students.
As an active supporter of Take Our Kids to Work Day, the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences has developed a full-day program hosted at the Bannatyne Campus (from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.) for Grade 9 students, including complementary lunch for participants and hosts.
Students will enjoy a day of hands-on sessions, performing various scientific and medical or dental techniques. The program includes exposure to a variety of health profession and scientific careers, fun activities and workshops highlighting the diversity of health sciences education in the Rady Faculty.
