My lab’s research on epigenetics includes two aspects:
1. Methodology development: we are developing a graph-based algorithm to identify patient(s)-specific methylated regions.
2. Applications: We are involved in applying statistical and bioinformatical methods for two genome-wide methylation projects: The first one is to identify novel prognostic and predictive differentially methylated biomarker profiles (“signatures”) and underlying pathways from Metastatic Castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) patients by MBD-Seq strategy. The second one is to assess methylation in adolescents in relation to maternal smoking during pregnancy using the Illumina 450K HumanMethylation arrays.
