What screening is required to ensure it’s safe for my child able to attend a program?

All staff and participants must complete the MB COVID-19 shared health screening tool prior to attending any program.

If a participant/ athlete complains of any new or worsening symptoms of COVID-19 while a part of our programs, their parent/ guardian will be notified immediately.

They will be permitted to participate in programs again once a negative COVID-19 test result has been reported AND their symptoms are improving.

Manitoba Public health will guide our contract tracing and families will be notified when required.

Information regarding positive cases and potential exposures will be shared with the child's main contact as identified on the participants’ personal information form. Confidentiality of personal information will be protected and no identifying information will be shared when communicating a positive case at camp.

Masks and sanitization

Are masks mandatory for staff and campers?

COVID-19 mask protocols:

Mini U & Junior Bisons summer camp participants (and their guardians) are exempt from the current University of Manitoba mask policy. All members of our team will continue wearing masks indoors when not engaging in physical activity and we strongly encourage participants to do the same.

Evening and weekend program participants (including swimming lessons), and guardians will be required to continue to wear a 3-ply mask when not participating in physical activity.

Sanitization stations are available at building entrances and exits.

All group use equipment (i.e. dodgeballs, gaming system controllers etc) will be sanitized after each use.

Cancellations

In the event that programs are not permitted to run full refunds will be issued to the original method of payment.
