U of M Food Bank

UPDATE: Our top priority is doing our part to help contain the transmission of COVID-19, therefore the Food Bank is closed for in-person visits until further notice. However, we are happy to offer contactless delivery from our partner, Food Fare Winnipeg.

To be eligible, students must be enrolled (full or part-time) in the current academic term. You are welcome to use the services, at no cost to you, to help offset the costs of your groceries during times of financial distress. Please note that you can request a food hamper, once every three weeks.

If you are in need of a hamper, please send an email to: foodbank@umanitoba.ca.

You must include the following information:

  • Full name
  • Student number
  • Contact phone number
  • Delivery address (Food Fare can deliver to in-city addresses and surrounding areas)

Once your request is received, you will be contacted by Financial Aid and Awards to confirm details.  All requests submitted to Food Fare by noon (Monday to Friday) will be eligible for same day delivery.

Please note: you must be at home to receive the hamper on the day of delivery. We are unable to provide an exact time that your hamper will arrive, so please ensure you (or someone in your household) are available all day/evening.

There is no charge for the hamper or delivery.  These services are being provided to you in partnership by Financial Aid & Awards, UMSU and GSA.
