Windows Remote Desktop Configuration Instructions

Aurora Reporting and VIP (HRIS) Systems  
To launch a terminal services session to connect to these systems from off-campus, you need the following:

  • U of M proxy server setup
  • Windows Remote Desktop Connection software

  1. Click on Start > Programs > Accessories > Communications > Remote Desktop Connection.

  2. Type into the Computer box, and then click Connect.

  1. In the window session that appears, enter:
    • the terminal server user name that has been assigned to you
    • your terminal server password
    Click OK.

  1. The windows desktop vbbin32 screen looking similar this will appear. You can minimize this box. You can run the various applications such as the cView report viewer by double clicking on the icons.

When you have finished and are ready to sign off...
  1. Click the Start button and select Log Off umvip.
