Annual Open House

OPEN HOUSE is for Grade 11 and 12 students interested in post-secondary studies in music. Students spend the day attending classes, rehearsals, and performances with the Desautels Faculty of Music students. Student also get to meet with professors and play in an Ensemble.

Welcome (9:00 am - 9:50 am)
Lectures (10:00 am - 11:15 am) - Expand your horizons by sitting in on a university course and learning about conducting and music composition!
Concert (11:30 am - 12:00 pm) - Prepare to be wowed by our student performers as they perform a concert for you!
Lunch (12:00 pm - 12:50 pm) - Enjoy a pizza lunch while chatting with our wonderful faculty and students!
Question Time (1:00 pm - 1:30 pm) - Find answers to all of your questions about university academics and learn about the different programs you can choose in our faculty!
Sessions (1:30 pm – onwards) - Watch our students rehearse for their ensemble performances, learn jazz performance skills, or learn some performance tips by attending a masterclass with our faculty members!

Prep Studies (10:30 am - 10:50 am) - Learn about how our Prep Studies courses can help you prepare for your audition and music theory exam!
Student Mentors (11:00 am - 11:30 am) - Meet our outstanding student mentors, who can help you navigate university life and succeed!
Lunch (11:30 am - 12:20 pm) - Enjoy a pizza lunch while chatting with our wonderful faculty and students!
Midday Recital (12:30 pm - 1:20 pm) - Watch a recital put on by our students and faculty!
Question Time (2:00 pm - 2:30 pm) - Find answers to all of your questions about university academics and learn about the different programs you can choose in our faculty!
Sessions (2:30 – onwards) - Learn some performance tips by attending a masterclass with our faculty members!
