Apply for Appointed Positions on UPSSA!

Dear Political Studies Students,

We are now accepting applications to appointed positions on the Undergraduate Political Studies Students' Association!

There are three positions that need to be filled:

Director of Finance
Manage UPSSA's finances, apply for grants, such as the Arts Endowment Fund, and organize fundraisers.

Director of Communications
Run our social media accounts and communicate with students and the department through our email. Respond to inquiries and help to generate interest in Political Studies among new students and in the wider community.

Chairperson
Organize meetings, take minutes, and ensure that everyone's ideas and questions are addressed.

These positions are not only important for UPSSA, but are a great way to build leadership experience and strengthen a resumé.

Who can apply?
Anyone who has taken 6 credit hours of Political Studies courses in the last 2 years is eligible to apply and vote in elections. If you're new to Political Studies, we hope you'll consider joining us!

How do I apply?
Simply send a cover letter and resumé to umupssa@gmail.com to be considered. Be sure to indicate the position for which you are applying and include a short statement about why you want to be on UPSSA.

Applications are open until 11:59 PM on Friday, October 9th. After that, we will review the submissions and select three people for the positions.

If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to ask! We hope that lots of people will take this opportunity to get involved in our community.

Finally,

Our friends at the Canadian International Council are looking for a Student Representative to serve on the Executive of the Winnipeg Branch!
The Canadian International Council (CIC) is Canada’s foremost foreign relations council. It is an independent, member-based organisation established to strengthen Canada’s role in international affairs by engaging Canadians in discussions about Canada’s foreign policy.

This is an exciting volunteer opportunity for globally-minded students. It will connect you to a network of academics, professionals and experts in a broad range of subject areas related to Canadian Foreign Policy.

Please see the attached document - and consider joining the CIC! You can find out more by visiting their website, http://www.thecic.org.
