The School has been awarded full accreditation status every instance the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada
has surveyed the site. Survey site visits were made in 1965, 1971, 1977, 1981, 1986, 1993, 2000, 2007 and 2014.

Upon completion of the U of M Dental Hygiene Program, graduates are required to write the National Dental Hygiene Certification Examination. This exam must be successfully completed in order to work in most provinces across Canada. To find out more about licensure requirements in a specific province, provincial regulatory authorities should be contacted directly or visit the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association website at for further information.

In Manitoba, Dental Hygienists are licensed by the College of Dental Hygienists of Manitoba.
