Patterns of Regional Mental Illness Disorder Diagnoses and Service Use in Manitoba: A Population-Based Study

Note:In each of the following files, the graphs are ordered by the key indicator of health status, premature mortality rate (PMR); i.e. from the region with the most healthy population (at the top of the graph), to the region with the least healthy population (at the bottom of the graph).

  1. Prevalence
    These files contain information on the treatment prevalence of various categories of mental illness disorders, by sex, region of the province (RHAs and districts), age and income grouping.

  1. MHMIS
    These files contain information on the treatment prevalence for all Manitoba residents in the Mental Health Management Information System (MHMIS).

  1. Physician Services
    These files contain information on several indicators of physician service use: (i) Physician Visits for All Causes, (ii) Physician Visits For Mental illness, (iii) Visit Rates to Psychiatrists, For Mental illness.

  1. Hospital Services
    These files contain information on the use of hospital services, including separations, days of stay in hospital, and causes of hospitalizations.

  1. Home Care
    These files contain information on the use of Home Care services in Manitoba for the fiscal years 1997/98 to 2000/01.

  1. Personal Care Homes
    These files contain information describing the use of Personal Care Homes (PCHs) by Manitoba residents aged 75 years or older for the five fiscal years from 1997/98 to 2001/02.
  1. Use of Pharmaceuticals
    These files contain information on the rates of use of pharmaceuticals for various categories of mental illness disorders.
  1. Suicide and Suicide Attempts
    These files contain information on suicide-related behaviors and population-based risk factors in Manitoba from 1997 to2001.
